Swamp 2008 quality assurance program plan

A CAG is made up of representatives with diverse community interests, including residents near the site and who may be impacted by the site, local environmental groups, local government officials, local businesses, and possibly responsible parties. The CAG purpose is to provide a public forum for the community to present and discuss their needs and concerns and to offer input to EPA. The TASC program will provide a technical advisor to help us understand complex environmental information.

Since the fight to stop the jetport over 50 years ago, the residents of our local communities have fought to preserve and protect our environment. Let us continue that tradition and ensure that the Rolling Knolls Superfund is restored to protect human health and the environment through ecological revitalization which supports functioning and sustainable habitat.

According to the Chatham Board of Health, waste included tree stumps, scrap metal, tires, household refuse, residential septage waste and industrial waste. Contaminants consist of elevated levels of arsenic, lead, mercury, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs , pesticides, phthalates, polychlorinated biphenyls PCBs , volatile organic compounds VOCs , semi-volatile organic compounds SVOCs , freon compounds, dioxin and furans.

After many years of investigation, EPA determined that the site was a threat to people and the environment and the site was placed on the Environmental Protection Agency National Priorities List for cleanup in What exactly does this mean?

In , after toxic waste dumps such as Love Canal received national attention and the public learned about the risks to human health and the environment caused by contamination, Congress established the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act CERCLA , more commonly known as Superfund. The Superfund law allows EPA to clean up contaminated sites, including requiring responsible parties to perform the cleanup or pay for it.

After having listed Rolling Knolls as a Superfund site, EPA identified potentially responsible parties PRPs who then conducted a lengthy remedial investigation through soil and water sampling and a risk assessment. The next step in the process is an analysis of potential cleanup alternatives, called a Feasibility Study and identification of a preferred proposed cleanup plan. The proposed cleanup plan will summarize preliminary conclusions and delineate why the selected option appears most favorable.

Water Quality Goals A Compilation of Water Quality Goals Numeric water quality thresholds from the literature for over chemical constituents and water quality parameters. The text of the report explains, with examples, how these thresholds may be used to assess protection of beneficial uses of water resources in the context of California's quality standards. A summary of relevant statutes, regulations, plans, and policies and links to original references are included.

Water is a precious resource in California, and maintaining its quality is of utmost importance to safeguard the health of the public and the environment. The Standard Operating Procedures SOPs are provided as a basis for developing ones own SOPs to fit the way ones own organization implements its environmental sampling and analysis program. Module 6. Selecting an Environmental Laboratory: The module describes a number of factors to be considered to assist in choosing a laboratory to meet specific project needs.

How you choose to weigh the different factors presented will be dependent on your individual circumstances. Skip to main content. Contact Us. Collaborating with the different heads of departments, work together to implement the new policies and procedures. You can do this through training, one-on-ones, and continuous feedback with employees. Your job is to address any questions and concerns for both managers and front-line employees and ensure adherence to the new procedures through regular tracking and reporting.

Build your quality assurance program the right way by having a clear-cut switch between the old system and the new one. Give your team reminders in the days and weeks leading up to the switch. Then, on the day of the change, get everyone on board with a clear announcement that the new program starts with the first shift.

The managers might need to remind people during the first few days if agents forget to follow the new plan. Remember, this is a learning experience for everyone. Be patient but firm in insisting they adhere to the new rules. A few weeks or months after implementation, organize discussion and feedback sessions among managers. Then ask them to meet with their teams to hear their experience with the new QA program.

You might hear questions or comments you need to research more about or mull over before making a decision. This is a feedback session aimed at exploring issues, not solving them once and for all. As you get feedback, start to analyze and measure the progress and changes the new procedures have brought on. Analyze KPIs before and after the implementation and review your voice of the customer. You also need to measure other outcomes that were already in good shape before the change.

An increase in happy customers or sales or a reduction in waiting time can be directly tied to actions that front-line employees took. Let staff know about the direct impact they had on their company. Beyond verbal affirmations, you can drive the message home even more effectively by rewarding exceptional adherence to the new plan. Positive outcomes for your customers and your company are critical.

To get those positives, though, you need your team members to follow your plan and provide more feedback if needed. So, reward compliance to the rules regardless of the results. In addition to measuring KPIs, do some testing to ensure your managers and agents understand the changes clearly.

Then, clear up any misunderstandings one on one and with all your managers. Remember that when the procedures and policies were defined for your QA program, it was all in theory. This could be done by getting more feedback to spot weaknesses, providing improved training and conducting deeper VoC analysis.
